Posted by Diablo III is an action role-playing game currently in development and the third installment of Blizzard’s Diablo franchise. It was unveiled on June 28, at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France. Development on Diablo III began some time in 2005 when Blizzard North was still in operation. Four years is about time for a game release.
Associates working on a Diablo 3 game design have supplied the following information.
The release date for the online beta multiplayer trial version is currently set to:
11th September, 2009
The final version, available for purchase is to be released before Christmas:
24th December, 2009
The system requirements are likely to be:

Operating System: Windows XP/ Vista
Processor: 1.4GHz or higher CPU.
RAM: 1Gb or more.
Video: 128Mb video card Dx9
Hard Drive Space: 4-8GB
Mac:
Operating System: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or better.
Processor:1.6GHz or higher.
RAM: 1Gb or higher, DDR RAM recommended.
Video: 128mb ATI or NVIDIA video card
Hard Drive Space: 4-8 GB
Don’t know whether its a coincidince of 9/11, the following information is yet to be verified. Lets hope this rumor is a real release date.

No way they would release it the day before christmas there wouldn’t be time for anyone to buy it. Not to mention the fact that they stated that starcraft 2 will be out before diablo 3 and they are to release 1 game per year.

SC II is Blizzard’s most likely candidate for a 2009 release, and Diablo III is most likely their 2010 release. It may be true that its been in development since 2005, but ‘development’ can mean a lot of different things, and doesn’t necessarily mean ‘coding’ or ‘drawing’ or anything else.
“It’ll be out when it is done”. Deal with it and stop speculating exact release dates to the day.

Ok i am just going to say it. a 1.4Ghz non-dual core processor? you want that to be able to run D3? Are you mad or just plain stupid? That processor would burst into flames just trying to open the menu to install the game. Are you people living in the stone age still? minimum specs would be closer to a 2.0Ghz dual core processor. also no American company is going to release something on 9/11, even if it is just a multiplayer beta. BTW why would make a multiplayer beta for a game that’s multiplayer is the same as the main game. So you would just be giving away the story line in having a Beta at all, though i hope they do have one i doubt it will be a multiplayer one, i think they will just let us dive into part of the 1st act and leave us hanging. Also, you don’t release a game the day before Christmas, that’s just stupid, the optimum time to release any game is either right before Thanksgiving or right after it, that way you either hit Black Friday or force people to save their money for just after Black Friday. Anyways the logic in this “leaked” information is so far flawed that anyone who believes it is a moron. I really hope the next time information like this is “leaked” you’ll take the time to stop, think about it, and discredit it.
D3 will not be out until late 2010, not that i know this for sure, but i’ve followed blizzard games long enough to know its a good chance that’ll be the case. SC2 will likely be out this year for the holidays.
There is no way this is correct. The first rumored release date tends to be about 1-2 years before it actually comes out. Don’t get me wrong, I cannot wait for D3 but it’s the blizzard way.

hate to say it but a 1.4 ghz would do just well on d3. maybe dual-core 1.4. i have a low end computer in my garage 1.6 dc running cod4 without a hint of problem with a nvidia 6800 on 1280×1024. sorry to burst your bubble. even i thought my pc wouldnt even have a clue what to do with cod4, but technology changes. FSB plays an important role along with the northbridge and southbridge.
just to let everyone know i have also been a a big follower of blizzard games. I have been in contact with Eb games here in Ontario and the release date for D3 according to them is December 1st 2009. The will be taking advance ordering sometime in mid October early November. They were not able to tell me any other info about the game
Complete bunk and it does a disservice to the Diablo faithful to get people’s hopes up. Blizzard has not mentioned any dates – and as a matter of policy doesn’t mention them. Second, they have publicly stated they are committed to *one* big release per year and the next relase due is SC2. I’d love to be wrong as I think D3 is long overdue (shame on Blizzard for letting the Diablo brand rot on the vine for so long).

This is great! i have been going to my local game store every month to find out if they have any info about when they’ll get the game in, but they know nothing! There are a few things i want to see in diablo 3, such as Shared stash, PVP enable, and not to OP weapons/items like Enigma from Diablo 2. I play D2 at the moment and its good, i heard that they’re releasing patch 1.13 for it, and i hope this new patch is good enough to make the gameplay fairer (because smiters with Enigma and Passion are too OP), make somethinglike a CAPTCHA on login so that bots can’t come on, and if they do manage to get on, make them permenently banned if they type more than 5 messages in the space of 1 second!

Will i need Diablo 1 and 2 to be able to play Diablo 3?
Why in the world would Blizzard Release both Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 in the same month!? Think about it, its just bad business, and we all know how Blizz loves making money.
D3 will never work on a 1.4 GHz Singlecore – it´s the same physics-engine used in SC2 …

No, there will be no runewords.
And I’m pleased to believe this, but no. D3 comes out after SC2, andthat’s probably going to come out sometime in 2010.
Plus, the Gods working on D3 are only up to Act 2… it will obviously move along faster than Act 1, now that they have the engine and character graphics, but there will probably be four Acts, and that will definitely take a while to complete.

I have no specific information about Diablo III, however, as a retailer, I do want to mention something about pre-Christmas product releases.
We have seen, over the past 3-4 years, an increased trend in companies releasing SMALL QUANTITIES of “must have” products just before Christmas, and then large numbers just after.
The logic seems to be that most people will, that way, buy BOTH a Christmas Present AND “The Thing They Really Wanted”, ending up in two sales… rather than one.
Applies, to be fair, more to the companies with large product lines than to small studios like Blizzard… but I wouldn’t discount a December release automatically.
That having been said, the “one release per year”, and this year it’s SC2″ theory seems credible – though if I were the product manager for D3, I’d hit the “Go” button when I thought it was good and ready, whether it was December or not
